How to Be the Big Man on Campus

Even though a campus is a big place, full of people with varying interests, one does not necessarily have to feel lost in the crowd. Instead, one should aim to be the big man on campus, i.e. a person who has a lot of connections, knows when and where the most happening party is being held, which hang out is currently the hottest, which girls are the most popular, etc. To acquire recognition, knowledge and connections, one needs to put in a lot of effort. However, the hard work is definitely going to be worth it in the end.

    Try to get into an administrative body such as the student government on campus. This way, you will find yourself obtaining a significant amount of control and authority. Students will frequently come to you for help or guidance. In a matter of time, you will earn a reputation for being the most useful person on campus.

    Connect with as many people as possible. If you are in an administrative body, you will be meeting plenty of students every day, which will consequently increase your contacts. It does not matter if a student is rich, poor, beautiful, ugly, popular, or notorious; they all have problems at some point, which is why they will come to you sooner or later. By helping them out, you will be able to land yourself in their good books. An association with different types of students will allow you to gather information of a varying nature, thus making you the most informed person on campus.

Instead of getting information from the newsfeed, be the first one to put the latest campus news on Facebook. Make sure you are always connected to the internet, even on your cell-phone.
