How to Create and Use a Password Reset Disk or USB in Windows 8

Remembering a password seems difficult to few people, but if you forget your password then that is most frustrating. However if a password reset disk is available, you do not have to get alarmed because you are given a choice to set a new secret code.

But the method explained in this guide is only applicable for local user accounts. Through a live ID a separate method is required in order to set the password.

Carefully follow the steps stated below and create and use a password reset disk or USB in your Windows 8 operating system.

    In order to bring up the Search Page click Windows + F keys altogether.

    Form the options viewed on the right corner side of the window click on the Settings.

    More list of options will appear on the right side of the window, click on the User Accounts.

    A new window with the title User Account will appear on your screen. On the left side of the window click on the  “Create a password reset disk” link.

    A new window will appear on the screen with the title Forgotten Password Wizard. Before you initialize the procedure make sure that you have inserted a USB device.

    Click Next and select USB for which you wish to create the password key, by clicking the arrow pointing downward.

    On the next page enter your current Window’s password and again hit the Next button.

    That’s it! There is no reset disk because anyone can use this method to access your system.

    If you forgot your password then that can also be done. First you will have to click the link Reset Password.

    Make sure the USB is plugged in. The Password Reset Wizard will open.

    Click Next and select USB for which you have previously created a password. Click Next.

    Now you will have to type a new password along with the hint of the new password.

    In the end click Next and your new password has been created.
