A Gin Pahit Cocktail comes from bitter family of cocktails and is made by mixing gin and bitters only and is one of the most favourite drinks in colonial Malaya. Gin Pahit is also a Malayan name and in Malayan it means “bitter gin”. The recipe itself lies in the name of this drink and is very easy to remember.

Some variations of this drink were also used by the Royal navy to create mixture of drinks which was used to provide medical treatment to the soldiers. Gin Pahit is the traditional name of this cocktail but in these modern times the drink is also known as the pink gin cocktail and the original name is lost somewhere in history books and novels.

Utensils Needed: Cocktail glass, a cocktail shaker

– 3 to 4 dashes of angostura bitters

    Get a cocktail shaker and mix gin with ice cubes in it. Better is to use crushed ice.
