Decide if you really want to play softball
Now state of the art softball bats can get a little expensive, so the first thing you need to do, is to go on and ensure that you really want to play the sport.
You can try your hand at baseball first, however, should you still decide that baseball is too hard for you, then you can go on and settle down to playing softball.
Find store and browse selection
The next step is to find a local store that deals in softball bats. This is not going to be an easy thing to do, but you might as well go ahead and do this any way.
Once you have found the store, you need to head down to it, and start looking through the various options that they have available.
You need to take your time and be patient in this step, since the bats you shortlist will ultimately decide what bat you will be using for a good portion of your softball career.
Test out bats and purchase
Now after you have browsed through the numerous bats, that are up for sale and short listed a few, you need to start swinging them around just to see what they feel like. If you can swing at objects that would be better, since it would help you develop the feel of the bat, and understand how it would hit other things when used on the pitch.
Now after doing all of that, you need to settle on one bat and then go on and purchase it.
