With it’s built-in Wi-Fi card to it’s mini-SD expansion card slot, the Audiovox PPC-6700 Smartphone available through Sprint is one of the most versetile tech toys available today. Not only can you keep track of you schedual, but you can surf the web and download your files at broadband speeds. You no longer have to sacrifice fun feature for business fetures, with it’s 1.3 megapixel camera and windows media player mobile, you can still take pictures at the best parties while listening to your favorite tunes.
After using other Smartphones, from Kyocera to Blackberry, I have never been as impressed as I am with this phone. Running Microsoft’s Windows Mobil 5, it has all the normal tools, Schedualer, Notepad, Contacts, etc. But it also has Mobil Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Media Player, and Internet Explorer. So not only can you keep track of your busy days, but with it’s slide out keyboard and large touchscreen you can write up your reports and presentations, all while on the move.
The Audiovox PPC-6700 also has one of the fastest internet connections available in a cellular phone. With the EVDO upgrade you are able to recieve broadband speeds, something unheard of on cellular systems only a year ago. Along with the high speed cellular connection it also two other wireless features, bluetooth and an exclusive Wi-Fi capability. Panera beware, the cellphones are coming!
Now the feature that I find to be the most compeling to have this over any other is the large amount of extra software available for Windows Mobile. From video games to financial planners, from Wi-Fi hotspot radars (WiFifofum) to photo editing. A selection not available for the Blackberry (propriatary OS) or as powerful for the Handspring Treo (Palm OS).
This smartphone is not for eveyone though, with a pricetag of $600 (at time of writing) it puts it out of reach for the average techie. But for the on-the-go big business person, this would be one of the best investments you could make.
