How to Assemble Your Own Home Tool Set

If you are planning on making your own homemade tool set for your home, you should definitely do it. There is no better way to know that you have all of the tools you need than to make the tool set yourself. Here are the basic tools that you will want to include in your home tool set:

A hammer: No home tool set is complete without a hammer. This is a necessity for hanging pictures, assembling many items or just crushing a bag of ice up. The hammer is a must for your home tool set.

Screwdrivers: You will want to include a flathead and a Phillips screwdriver in your home tool set. There will be countless times that you will be glad you had them.

Wrench: A home tool set should also include a wrench. This will come in handy for plumbing, removing bicycle parts or any other project which requires the removing or tightening of nuts and bolts.

Pliers: Pliers are gripping tools that can be used to twist and turn things that demand a tight grip and a lot of force.

Wire stripping pliers: You will want to include wire stripping pliers in your home tool set for when you need to do anything electrical, such as rewire your home speaker. They will strip the coating off of wire and will also cut it.

Vise grips: This is my favorite tool in the world. Vise grips are locking pliers, but they can be used for so many things. They work by gripping onto an object, you them lock them on the object and can turn it, pull it, twist it or even bend it.

Heavy duty scissors: Perhaps the most used tool in your home tool set, the scissors will be the one tool you will have to remind yourself to put back in the tool set. How many times have you not been able to find a good pair of scissors? Well, now you will have them whenever you need them.

Electric tape: Make sure you have a roll of electric tape in your home tool set. It will come in handy for any wire job or other emergency situations where tape is needed.

Duct tape: It’s not just used for ducts, this tape can tape up boxes, fix rips and tears in some items, temporarily stop a leak and so much more. If your home tool set doesn’t have duct tape, then you don’t have a home tool set.

Once you get these items you will want to get a tool box that is bigger than you need for this home tool set. The reason for this is once you get your home tool set made, you will think of things on your own that you would use. You don’t want to outgrow your new home tool set too soon. It’s best to get a nice tool box that either has drawers or a removable shelf. You don’t want just a box that requires all of your tools to just be thrown in on top of each other.
