Scrapbook Company Reviews: Karen Foster Design

Karen Foster started the company in 1998 from her home. She created eight themed papers and her children helped her pack and ship them as orders came in. She soon added stickers to the paper line, and the company has now grown to employ over 25 employees. Karen Foster Design has grown to an international company and their products can be found in over 2,000 independent retail stores and large craft chains from Canada to South Africa and from Japan to Ireland.

Product Lines

Karen Foster design is known for it’s themed scrapbook supplies. These themes include stickers, papers, rub ons, brads, and other embellishments that all match. Some of the themes you’ll find at Karen Foster Design include; baby, maternity, pets, holidays and seasons, sports and pastimes, birthday, graduation, preschool, military and wedding. They also provide many kits in these themes. One of the lines for which Karen Foster Design is very well known is their calendar line. They offer papers with designs for each month of the year, rub ons that match, and even a school days calendar.

Karen Foster has been on the cutting edge with some of its embellishments. License plate embellishments are small metal self-adhesive license plates with fun sayings on them. They come in different colors and styles that match the themes. Similar to the license plates are metal signs, except these are shaped and made to look like road signs. They also offer wooden signs, but these have a more vintage or country feel. Little Labels are woven labels like the ones you find on clothes. They are self adhesive and come in many different themes. They also offer rubons, layered stickers, cardstock stickers, brads and alphabet sticker sheets.

Karen Foster Design is also known for the Scraparatus. It is a tool that can do die cuts, set eyelets, and punch holes. Karen Foster Design currently offers two alphabet die sets, a shape set, Christmas set, tag die set, autumn holidays die set, and a tags die set. This tool received the Scrapbooking and Paper Crafts Innovation award in 2007.

Karen Foster Design offers a few scrapbooking storage solution products. These are the hook nook, a peg and hook product that can be hung on the wall, snap boxes for holding paper and other items, and the paper keeper, which is large enough to hold 12×12 papers upright on a desk.
