Things to Do While Bored or Tired at Work

Alright well I wrote this out of love for all the people out there who struggle to stay awake at their mundane 9-5 jobs (like the one I have). I have become an expert on making and inventing miscellaneous things to help me keep those eyeballs refreshed. Here’s a few of the things I use whenever I feel that 12 cups of coffee isn’t enough:

1. Do a few laps around your workplace. Smell that fresh air outside? It’s great isn’t it? Simply delicious. I find that this is truly helpful during the winter months when the air is brisk and dry, gets you going in a snap.

2. Make the classic basketball hoop in a garbage can. Yes this is probably the easiest thing to create, get a clothes hanger bend it into the shape of a hoop with a part that can be tapped to the garbage can, pull a plastic bag shaped in the form of a basket around the hoop, and viola, you’ve got yourself your own cubicle basketball hoop.

3. Make a paper helicopter using a paper clip and paper. This one is a lot more difficult to make and to explain, so I’ll just insert a link here: Paper Helicopter

4. Go to the bathroom and play the free games that came with your cellphone if it came with any. Trust me, they might be free, but their definitely entertaining, plus you kill two birds with one stone, you get to excrete any excess waste from your body and you get to stay awake!

5. If it’s too hot in your cubicle or in the area in which you work, this might be the source of your problem. Heat can easily put anyone to sleep, get a small desk fan or a rotating stand-up one.

6. Add a few games to your personalized Google tab bar. If your one of those workers who aren’t allowed to use the internet for anything except research this is the best way to go. It doesn’t open up a new window and doesn’t create any cookies on your computer, perfect for the sneaky inner gamer inside you.

7. Tired of typing? Itching to do something new? Why not draw and stencil on a sheet of paper! Yes that’s right diversify yourself, explore the arts and create random pictures with a stencil and crayon set from Wal-mart. The best way to go whenever you need new ideas for something.

8. If all of the above fails and you still feel drowsy drink another cup of coffee 😉

9. Most important of all however: Get more sleep.
