Wait Until Sunday

We haven’t talked since that night.
I wonder if you’re all right.
But you said “Stop calling me.” I’m suffocating you.
So I’ll put down the phone
And I’ll leave you alone.
And I’ll wait until Sunday to start hating you.

It’s been about a week or two
Haven’t heard a word from you
But my will is strong and it will not break
So you keep ignoring me
While acting so deplorably
And I’ll wait until Sunday to make you my biggest mistake

The truth is all too evident
But to my heart, it’s irrelevant
Three months of nothing and I still love you
So I’ll rinse my heart of doubt
Or just throw the whole thing out
And I’ll wait until Sunday to stop thinking of you.

Sundays come and Sundays gone.
Everything’s still all wrong
I thought this would be the final act.
So I’ll give this scene my all
And work through the curtain call
I won’t wait until Sunday to take my role back.

This relationship has ended
It was very recommended
That we cut all ties, we’ve endured enough.
So straightforward with my pain
And stay in your own lane.
And don’t wait until Sunday to come get your stuff.

Come get it all now.
