Take a large bowl and add 6 ounces of plain flour into it.
Top the flour with 1 teaspoon of baking powder, 4 ½ ounces of butter, 3 ounces of light Muscovado sugar and 2 ounces of caster sugar.
Mix these ingredients and pour in ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract.
Crack one large egg into the mixture in the large bowl and beat it up along with the other ingredients until the sugar dissolves completely.
Add in 4 ½ ounces of dark chocolate chips and mix up for few more seconds until it forms a thick and smooth batter.
Now, take a baking sheet and grease it properly.
Gently drop some spoons full of the sugar-vanilla mixture on to the pre-greased baking sheet and slightly flatten them to give them cookies shape.
Set the gas mark of your oven at 5 (190’c or 375’f) and place the baking sheet in it.
Bake the cookies for 10 to 13 minutes or until lightly brown.
Turn off the oven, remove the baking sheet and set aside for few minutes until the dark chocolate chips and vanilla cookies are cool to handle.
Serve your chocolate and vanilla cookies immediately or store them in a medium airtight container. Otherwise, wrap them with colorful cellophane paper and fix up with a bow or ribbon in order to present as a nice Halloween dessert gift.
