Difference Between Vampires and Zombies

If you are fascinated by the walking undead, you are definitely not alone. The night-time creatures have become a huge sensation in recent times, courtesy of their depiction in novels and films.

Two of the most popular undead creatures that are not very fond of sunlight are vampires and zombies. If you have seen the Twilight Saga, then you will be pretty familiar with the vampires. If you have seen I am Legend, Resident Evil or played the popular shooter House of Dead, then you are no stranger to zombies either.

Over the years, both vampires and zombies have undergone some major transformation in terms of their image and projection, but there are some characteristics that they have adhered to strongly.

If you have trouble differentiating between vampires and zombies, then there are certain things that can help you tell them apart.

One of the biggest differences between vampires and zombies is that the former are typically depicted as handsome and graceful creatures that walk and talk with such grace that humans cannot keep themselves from getting attracted to them. Zombies, on the other hand, are depicted as ugly and gory-looking creatures. Far from walking gracefully, they walk in a creepy manner, literally dragging their feet on the ground to move from one point to another.

Another thing that sets vampires apart from zombies is what they feed on. While vampires feed on human blood by sinking their sharp teeth in their victim’s throat, zombies feed on human brains, which does not only sound far more gruesome, but looks far more gruesome than how the vampires feed.

Even though vampires are good looking, graceful and feed in a far less gruesome manner than their fellow night-time creatures, they are far more dangerous than the zombies because they have the brains, while the zombies, though brainless, are not heartless. It is for this reason people fall prey to vampires far more often than they find themselves in the clutches of a zombie.

Vampires convert their victims into vampires by drinking their blood, while zombies convert their victims into zombies by biting or even scratching their victim.
