Move your left foot forward
Slowly move your left foot forward in a way that you don’t look in any haste at all. You will have to mix the slow and quick steps perfectly in order to make the dance look graceful.
Move your right foot
Once you have completed the first step and your left foot is motionless, you have to move the right one in a diagonal position from where you had started the dance. Remember this move has to be performed quickly.
Close your left foot
Lock your left foot behind the right one. Once again, this step has to be performed swiftly otherwise you will not look graceful at all.
Move your right foot backwards
This time, you have to make a slow movement with your right foot, bringing it backwards.
Bring back the left foot
Move the left foot diagonally in the same position it was initially, but a bit sideways. Be quick while doing this step.
Lock your right foot
Swiftly close your right foot behind the left one and transfer the weight according to the first position you took while starting the rumba.
Step your right foot backwards
Slowly position your right foot backwards, as soon as your partner makes his/her first move.
Move the left foot to the side
Quickly move your left foot sideways. Follow that up by closing your right foot to the left swiftly.
Move forward on left foot
Transfer the weight to your left foot and move forward slowly.
Finish the dance
In order to end the dance, you have to make a couple of quick movements. First, step to the side with your right foot and lock the left one behind it in one motion.
