Your baby might be sensitive enough to cry once he/she falls, but you can always avoid that. You can make your child learn how to fall so that they don’t cry as they get used to it. Once children learn how to fall, they start enjoying it. Moreover, they do not trouble anyone around them and they stop crying once they hit the ground. First, make your child realise that falling is not a bad thing. Mostly, when a child falls, the people around him/her always make sounds which depict that either the child has done something wrong or has hurt himself/herself. Make your child comprehend that falling down is something normal. Do not make the child feel unusual once they fall. Always encourage him/her and make them understand that falling is no big deal as nothing happens.

Secondly, try to remove the fear of heights and falling down. Lifting your child up in the air repeatedly will help you in this regard. Try to get him/her to jump from shorter heights such as sofas, beds and even tables. This will help your child understand how to protect himself/herself once they are falling down. They will know how to jump and they will learn how to position their body once they are coming down from a particular height.

Thirdly, make your child lay down on the ground so he/she knows what it feels like. Make him/her roll around on the ground. Sometimes the ground is soft and sometimes it’s hard. Just put your child on the ground so he/she knows that if they are running and fall, they will understand the texture of the ground that they are going to fall on. This will help your child gain confidence in terms of falling down. While many of you might believe that this will not help your child in any way, you can always try making your child jump on a new surface and he/she will most definitely hesitate. They feel confident with doing something on the ground that they have already jumped upon, or have previously fallen on.
