How to Layer Images in PowerPoint

If you are going to present your project in a class, or even in front of your boss, then you can add different pictures to add intensity in your work. This way, you will be able to attract more attention from the people and it can become easy for you to convey your message. For this purpose, you can use Microsoft PowerPoint’s layer tool, to add an interesting and beautiful effect to your presentation. The tool will allow you to use different images on one slide, by using them as layers. Some of them will be used as the background, and the others will work as foreground for your presentation.

Instructions

  • 1

Open the Microsoft PowerPoint presentation, which includes the images which you want to layer. If you plan to create a new presentation, then you can just open a blank presentation and insert at least two pictures, which you will use as layers.

  • 2

Go to “Insert” tab and click the “Picture” button. You can now locate the pictures from your hard disk and highlight them. Make sure you press and hold the Ctrl key, when you select multiple pictures. Click “insert”, to open the images in PowerPoint.

  • 3

Now right click on the image which you want to use as a background, or in the back of all the images and text on the slide. From the shortcut menu, you will have to select "Order" and click the "Send to Back" option. As a result, the image will be sent back.

  • 4

Now you can repeat the same process with the one which you want to bring to the front of all the images and text. Here, you should click the "Bring to Front", rather than selecting the “Send to Back” option.

  • 5

If you have too much text in your slide, then you may want to use “Wrap Text”, “Top and Bottom” or “Through” option, to make the text appear at the different sides of the image.
