Prepare the Tray
Take a large tray and place piece of wax paper on it. Set aside until you use it to place the coated candies.
Melt the Chocolate
First of all melt the chocolate properly for a sleek, glossy and smooth coating. You can use a double boiler to melt the 12 ounces of bittersweet chocolate morsels or by setting over boiling water. Check the simple procedures to Melt Chocolate Morsels.
Add in the Butter
Once you melt the chocolate, add in 1 cup of softened butter and stir until it dissolves completely.
Add in the Remaining Ingredients
Top the chocolate-butter mixture with ¾ cup of sugar and ¼ cup of confectioners' sugar. Now, crack two large eggs into a bowl, separate their white potion (yolk) and place in the bowl. Top the mixture with 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 3 teaspoons of ground cinnamon, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, 2 teaspoons of poppy seeds and ¼ teaspoon of salt.
Blend the Ingredients
Turn you electric mixer on and blend the ingredients until mixed thoroughly, forming a rich and smooth mixture.
Dip the Candies into the Chocolate Coating
Immediately dip a candy into the chocolate dip, hold for a few seconds to drip the excess coating and place on lined tray. Repeat the same method with the remaining candies and arrange them in an order, keeping some distance in between.
Arrange on a Tray
Before the chocolate coating hardens, shake over some multicolor sprinkles or colored sugar over the coated candies.
Place the tray in refrigerator for some time until cool. Store in an air tight jar or serve directly. Enjoy!
