First of all you should be in the right frame of mind as controlling them does not mean that you will raise them as robots. You should come at their level and understand their psyche before employing any strategy. It is very important to think from their mind otherwise they will show resistance.

Remember, parents are always their ideal so you must set an example for them. You must act the way you want them to act. Make rules and regulations of the house and follow in front of them.

  • 3

If the results are not favourable then you should be a little strict. Once they do something wrong, bend down to their height and look into their eyes. However, you should keep in mind that the main objective is just to show your disapproval not threatening them.

  • 4

Give them a warning in short sentences. It is always better to avoid long lectures rather it has been observed that direct language always has more impact. This warning will tell them that there can be some punishment if they won’t stop misbehaving.

  • 5

If they show the same behaviour again then do not hesitate in punishing them. Avoid any physical abuse, rather send them to a separate room and leave them alone. This will force them to think what brought them here.

  • 6

Stop talking to them and show your anger through your silence. Do not give them a response even if they try to start a conversation. Make them realise that their annoying behaviour has made things worse for them.

  • 7

Ask for an apology and if they apologise then appreciate them by giving a hug and kiss. Do appreciate them for showing good behaviour. You may reward them in shape of a cartoon movie, toy or trip to an amusement park.

If they are not cooperating then let them face the consequences in real life.
