How to Trim Bangs Between Haircuts

Bangs in haircuts can be quite frustrating, especially when they overgrow. This is because bangs can effectively ruin the look of your haircut. Most people would visit a hairdresser to get the bangs trimmed. However, you may want to trim bangs between your haircuts at home. This way you can save yourself the trouble of going to a hairdresser and waiting if the stylist is preoccupied. Here is what you will need in order to trim bangs between your haircuts.

Things Required:

– A pair of scissors
– Good quality shampoo and conditioner
– Blow dryer

Instructions

  • 1

Visit a beauty salon or a local store and purchase a pair of scissors. Make sure that the length of the scissor blades is between 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 inches. Furthermore, the scissors you choose should have blades with pointed ends to make the task at hand a lot easier.

Clean your hair properly by first washing them with a good quality shampoo and then conditioning your hair. Dry your hair with a clean towel and then use a blow dryer to completely evaporate leftover water particles. While you blow dry your hair, blow out the bangs straight.

  • 3

Divide the bangs you plan to trim into three sections, one at the middle of your head and the other two on either side of your head.

  • 4

Start trimming bangs in the middle section. Place your index and middle finger side by side in a horizontal position. Place bangs in the middle section of your hair in between the fingers. Slowly slide your fingers while holding the bangs until you reach the middle of the bangs. Avoid pulling at your hair too much.

Trim the bangs with a pair of scissors held at an angle of 45 degrees. Cut small sections and move slowly until you have trimmed all the bangs.

  • 6

Refer to the bangs you just trimmed in middle section to determine at what point you would need to trim bangs in the other two sections and then trim the bangs in those sections as well.

  • 7

After you are done trimming, closely scrutinise your hair cut and make minor adjustments if required.
