How to Walk for Exercise in a Big City

Big cities usually don’t provide any good place, reserved for walking. Although there are several parks in every large city, they are mostly too crowded. Similarly, the footpaths are full of people and you cannot use them purely for exercising.

Life is too busy in big cities and majority of the folks don’t get any time to go to a fitness centre. Walk is perhaps the best solution for those too busy in their lives. It is an extremely important activity and you cannot skip this just because you live a large city where the streets are crowded.

    In large cities, people don’t wake up early in the morning and you will find very few people in the streets at that time. It is the best time to walk in the open streets and you can enjoy fresh air too.

    If you have your own car, leave a little early for work. You should park your vehicle slightly away from your work place, so that you can cover the rest of the distance by foot. A brisk walk in the morning is really useful.

    In case you use public transport, take your bus a little away from where your normally do. Walk to the bus stop that is a few blocks away from your home. You are required to wear comfortable shoes though.

    Another positive activity is taking the stairs instead of elevators. This practice may take a little more time, but it is quite wonderful and produces excellent results.

    If you a job holder, you need to take the best advantage of your lunch break. Quickly leave the habit of eating lunch at your workplace. Go out, walk, and swing your arms while taking long breaths.

    Don’t be lazy at work. Instead of asking your colleague to pick files for you from the cupboard, do it yourself. Go to the kitchen to make tea for yourself. Try to walk in the office as much as possible.
