Marriage Leave Letter

Marriages are important events which can’t always be missed, even for work. If you have a marriage coming up, or better yet, if it’s your own wedding, you should submit a leave application as early as possible so that your organization can plan ahead and work does not suffer in your absence. Here we will show you how to write a marriage leave letter, and if you need, we have also provided samples and a template which you can use to draft your own leave letter.

Tips for Writing a Marriage Leave Letter

  • Keep the letter short and don’t get into too many details regarding the wedding.
  • Make sure you clearly mention all the related dates.
  • If needed, delegate your work to a colleague or a teammate who is willing to cover for you.
  • Leaving your contact information with your HR or colleagues is also advised if there is a chance that you might be needed urgently.
  • If it’s your own wedding, you might want to invite your supervisor/boss as well.
  • Sign off in the end.

    Respected sir,

My brother’s wedding date has been finalized, and the function will be held on the 30th of January 2011. The wedding is taking place in Canada, which is why I have to leave 3 days earlier to get there and take part in the preparation.

Hence, I would like to request a 5-day leave, from the 27th of January to the 1st of February. In my absence, Julia Henry will be coordinating with our clients and I will be reachable via phone if my assistance is required.

    Kindly consider my request.

    Yours Sincerely,
    Selena Golmez
