County Hall Gallery London

The ‘London County Hall’ is one of the prominent landmarks in the capital city and offers space for various events every year. County Hall has a gallery that displays stills of these events held at the venue giving the viewers a chance to peep into the history. Some renowned events held at the building are Japan Matsuri, David Walliams’ River Thames challenge Celebration, Chinese new year celebration, Easter fair at Couinty Hall, Opening of 2010 general election and 2012 New Year celebration fire work. The building has also given office space to  various companies most of which are associated with the music, arts and television industry.

    History

    The construction of this six story building commenced in 1911 and it had a grand opening in 1922 attended by King George V. North, south and island blocks were added lately in 1936, 1939 and 1974.

    The county hall holds various activities under its 'East meets West' scheme. People visit these  activities and lots of other events and entertain themselves to a great extent.

    How to get there

    By Tube

    The nearest tube station, Westminster underground station, is only 0.2 miles away. The distance between the county hall and this tube station can be covered in 5 minutes. Head east on bridge St and you will come across the county hall which you will spot on your left side. View Map

    By Bus

    The nearest bus stop is “Lambeth, Westmister Bridge County Hall (Stop D)”. It is separated by a distance of 144 feet which can be covered in 34 seconds. Any of the buses numbering 12, 53, 148, 159, 211, 453, N109, N155 and N381 would drop you at the Bus stop. From here, head west on Westminster bridge road and the building will appear on your right side. View Map
