What to Expect from World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor

Yet another Blizzcon has come and gone, and with it plenty of exciting new announcements and information on both current and upcoming Blizzard games. Out of all the announcements made, arguably the biggest was Blizzard’s announcement of World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor, the latest expansion for the venerable MMO, World of Warcraft.

A lot of new features are being added to World of Warcraft with the Warlords of Draenor expansion. In this article I will list all the biggest changes you can expect from World of Warcraft’s latest expansion.

More leveling content
As with every World of Warcraft expansion, there will be lots of leveling content, only this time you will have ten levels worth of content to go through unlike the previous two expansions’ five levels.

The expansion will take place in a past version of the planet Draenor, home of the Orcs and Ogres. The scale of the new continent and its many zones will be comparable to Outland from The Burning Crusade expansion.

Along with the usual quests to do while leveling, there will also be random events you can take part in similar to the ones found in other MMOs such as Guild Wars 2’s dynamic events and Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn’s FATEs.

New character models
The highly anticipated update to character models is finally coming in Warlords of Draenor. So far, Blizzard has shown off the new models for Gnomes, Dwarves, Male Orcs, Male Undead, and Male Tauren. Blizzard has stated that they plan to update every model except for Pandaren, with Worgen and Goblins being the very last to receive updates.

Garrisons will be the World of Warcraft version of player housing. Instead of just a house, however, you will have an entire town to claim as your own.

When you first get your Garrison, you will be able to place it down in the world and visit it whenever you want. Only you will see your Garrison unless you invite someone to it. After placing down your Garrison, you will be able to pick from a few buildings to place down as well.

Eventually you will unlock more buildings to put down as well as followers to live in your Garrison and do tasks for you. You can have your follows live in the various buildings, and even send them out to do quests and dungeons.

Free level 90 character
Every copy of Warlords of Draenor comes with a free boost to level 90 on any character of your choosing.

After purchasing Warlords of Draenor you will be given the option of instantly leveling any of your characters to level 90. This includes freshly made characters.

There are many new features coming in Warlords of Draenor, way more than can be listed in this article alone, and that’s without even getting into the new lore and story.

Whether you are a long-time World of Warcraft player, some who is completely new to the game, or a returning player, there is plenty to be excited about with Warlords of Draenor.
