Complete high school
First of all, you have to complete your high school. You can study any subjects in your high school. But, it will be better for you to study English, maths and science as it will prove out to be beneficial for you in the future.
Study accounting in college
After completing your high school, you must enrol yourself in a two-year programme in any college to learn accounting. You must know that you will have to do all your work as a patient relations representative on the accounting software. Therefore, you must learn all the concepts of accounting well. Moreover, you should also possess the knowledge of insurance companies and how they work because you may have to calculate the premiums and insurance claims at your work.
Do a part-time job
It will be better for you to do a part-time job after your studies. The job will help you to get practical knowledge about your field. You must know that you will not be able to get good amount of money as salary during your part-time job. But, don’t feel downbeat and take it as a good learning experience to flourish your skills.
Do some volunteer work at a hospital
Many private as well as public hospitals offer different kinds of volunteer programmes which help you to get a good practical experience of working in a hospital. You are able to interact with the doctors, patients, nurses and staff members during your volunteer work. In this way, you can learn about the operations which are carried out in the hospitals.
Develop good communication skills
Although, you must possess good accounting knowledge and skills in order to become a patient relations representative. But, good communication skills are equally important for the job as you have to make the patients feel free and peaceful in the hospital.
