Brush your hair
Start by brushing your hair thoroughly to remove any tangles and straighten them.
Clip hair at the top
Now, split your hair into two sections, the top and the bottom. Clip the top section of your hair (a line around the top of your ear) so that it doesn't drop or disturb you while you style the bottom half.
Start curling bottom strands
Now you need to start curling the hair in your bottom section. Simply take a small section and hold it on the curl for approximately 10 to 14 seconds.
Release curls when done
As you curl sections for 10 to 14 seconds, gently release the curls into your palm and wait for 3 to 4 seconds.
Let curls fall vertically
Now, let the curled sections of your hair go down vertically. You will need to repeat this procedure with the whole bottom section of your hair.
Set your hair with fingers
Once all the curls are done and hanging, you need to set them with your fingers. This is to give them a natural look and loosening up the curls.
Use hair spray
Once you have set the bottom section how you want, use a hair spray to make sure the curls hold their style for long.
Gather the top section
Now that the bottom section is set, pick up a medium or large hair elastic and start gathering some hair from the sides of your top section.
Fold the top section
Holding hair from the sides of your top section, you need to fold them over and tie them up with the elastic hair band. Once the top section is tied together at the back, let the bottom section hang and your half up half down hairstyle is all set.
