The calculated length should be stored somewhere. However, curtains are to six inches lengthier and wider than the actual calculated figures. The reason behind that is the fabric used for windows will be turned over etc so six inches extra fabric will be required for this purpose. If your window measure 8 inches by 8 inches, then the fabric cut for the preparation of curtains should measure 14 inches by 14 inches.

Two panels of curtains should be cut. One should contain the dimensions equal to the half of the length and width plus three inches at both sides whereas one should be cut as stated in the second step.

  • 4

Fold the fabric one inch inwards. Hem the fabric in that fashion and do that again by folding it one more inch. Sew the fabric very carefully. The sewing should be done perfectly so that it doesn’t messes up anything in the end.

The top of the curtain and its back should be sewn of the Velcro. It is the part where hooks will be placed.

Glue the hooks at the side of the window edges. Make sure you glue it enough so that it doesn’t come off again. This should be done for each and every curtain required for the van. All the steps from three to seven should be repeated for every curtain.
