Things required:

– Clean empty glass jar
– Stickers
– Fabric
– Glue
– Candies
– Glitters
– Ribbons
– Markers
– Hot glue gun
– Scissors
– Fabric scraps
– Measuring tape

  • 1

Start off by laying a newspaper on a flat surface to create your work area.

  • 2

Wash the glass jar with a steel wool in order to remove the label on it. Dry your jar with a cloth or a tissue paper.

  • 3

Measure around the jar and cut the fabric accordingly. You can use a simple fabric in red, pink or white colour.

  • 4

Now hot glue the Valentine’s Day themed fabric around your jar.

  • 5

Get a medium sized ribbon, measure it around your Valentine’s Day jar and add a little extra for making a bow.

  • 6

Gradually hot glue the piece of ribbon around the top of the Valentine’s Day themed fabric and do not forget to leave an extra ribbon on both ends to tie a bow. Now set it aside to let it dry completely.

  • 7

Meanwhile, pick up glazed paper sheets in different colours and make different heart shapes on them before cutting them out.

  • 8

Now paste the heart shapes on your jar with the help of a hot glue gun or a simple glue stick. You can also decorate the jar with different Valentine’s Day stickers.

  • 9

Now you need to tie both ends of the ribbons above the fabric to form a nice bow.

  • 10

Trace the lid on a piece of a red, pink or white fabric and cut it out carefully. Now glue the cutout on top of the jar’s lid.

  • 11

Now you can fill the jar with your children’s favourite candies, gum, chocolates or candy hearts. Your Valentine’s Day jar is now ready, present it to your children and enjoy their smiles when they discover the candies in the jar.
