Do not wear the same clothes frequently
A good way to make your clothes last longer is to use them less frequently. Try to rotate the shirts and trousers you wear on a frequent basis. In this way, your clothes will get some rest, and you will be able to use them over a longer period of time.
Storing the clothes properly is extremely important. Clothes that are used in winter should be stored or packed in a proper manner so that they are fresh and ready when they are needed. Make sure you use wooden hangers when you hang clothes as plastic hangers stretch and damage the fabric.
Care while washing
Extra care should be taken when you wash clothes. First of all, have a look at the tags on the clothes to check the fabric and how it should be washed. Secondly, do not use too much detergent or fabric softener as that can also be damaging for the clothes. Do not use hot water to wash your clothes; use warm or cold water instead.
Avoid dry cleaning
Try to avoid dry cleaning as there are a host of chemicals that are used in the process. These chemicals are extremely damaging for clothes and frequent dry cleaning can harm the fabric. Only clothes such as suits and designer shorts should be sent to the dry cleaner, as you cannot wash them properly at home. So, if you intend to make your clothes last longer, wash most of them at home yourself.
