First and foremost thing you need to do is to get some training of professional photography. You may join a company as an assistant photographer or get registered in a photography school. It is necessary even if you have a natural talent of photography. Taking some photography lessons will not only equip you with technicalities but you will be able to make some contacts in the field. Moreover, you will have a chance to know the latest trends of the market. Try to learn how to edit images as well.
Business planning and execution:
The next thing you will do is to make a business plan. You should draw a sketch in which you will calculate the actual investment, mention the plan of action, the probation time etc. If you do not have the funding then find a partner who can invest in your venture. After making all the arrangements, you should make an office to meet your customers. Though, there is no harm if you dedicate a room in your house for this purpose but it’s better to have a setup in the market.
Get the equipment:
After planning everything, now it’s time to open your wallet and spend some money on buying the equipment. The more you invest the better will be the result. Saving money is a good thing but don't try that with your equipment. Buy the best that you can as it will show in your work.
Make your portfolio:
Start from the lower scale. Cover small events and gatherings to get a grip over your craft. Meanwhile, keep building your portfolio as you must have something to show your customers. Do not rely on functions rather keep doing experiments in your studio.
You must advertise yourself properly to register your presence. You may use local newspapers, radio and TV channels or make your official page on the internet and display your work.
