Preheat the oven
Before you start to combine the ingredients, you need to preheat the oven to about 400-425 degrees F. In order to make superb cornbread, you can grease the bottom and the side of the pan of the oven with butter.
Mix the dry ingredients
Now you should put the dry ingredients, flour, cornmeal, baking powder, sugar and salt, in a bowl and mix them nicely.
Stir the wet ingredients
You can now mix milk with oil and eggs in a separate bowl before thoroughly stirring it with a wooden spoon.
Mix the dry and the wet ingredients
Pour the wet mixture in the bowl of the dry mixture and stir it until the it is smooth. However, over-stirring must be avoided as it will make the mixture thin and runny.
Bake the cornbread
Grab a baking pan or a cast iron skillet and pour the mixture in it. It is highly recommended that you bake it for approximately 25 minutes or until it is golden brown on the top.
You need to let the cornbread cool down for about 10 minutes on a cooling rack before you cut it into pieces and serve.
