King’s College London

In 1828, a group of churchmen and politicians decided to form a college in London and this led to the foundation of King’s college London. The purpose of this college was to produce an alternative of Church of England, which later became the University College London. King George the fourth awarded the college with Royal charter in 1829 and in 1836, University of London was founded, while UCL and Kings College were the first affiliate colleges of the University. Kings College has produced many famous personalities including Peter Higgs, Lord Lister, Sir James Black, Desmond Tutu, and many more. The institute is also renowned for producing 10 Nobel Prize winners; these people include Charles Barkla, Sir Owen Richardson, Sir Frederick Gowland Hopkins, Sir Charles Scott Sherrington, Sir Edward Appleton to name a few.     The first step before applying for admission is to decide the program you are interested in. You can apply for 2 programs within the same department, and once you have made your mind, then proceed with the application procedure.

    If you wish to apply for undergraduate programs then you need to do it through UCAS's website. UCAS offers an "Apply" system designed to apply for admission in undergraduate programs in different universities of UK. Please Visit the "Apply" link and follow the instructions.

    Credit Transfers

    Kings college London accepts credit transfers only from the universities that are bound by the European credit transfer scheme.

    How to Get to Kings College London

    By Tube

    If you wish to get to the Kings College London's main campus, then the nearest tube station is Temple. On leaving the station, head west on Temple Pi towards Surrey Street and then after 240 feet, turn right onto Strand lane. After about 290 feet, the college will be on your right . View Map

    By Bus

    You can also take several buses to get to Aldwych Somerset House bus stop, which is located very close to the university. This stop serves bus numbers 6, 9, 11, 13, 15, 23, 87 and 91.
