How to Paint a Glass Bottle on Canvas

Painting a reflection of glass bottle on the canvas is a challenging job for any painter, especially for students. However, dedication, practice and persistence can make the matter easier for you. Also, the subject matter can become even easier if you started building an ability to look at each object as an abstract. Creating reflections or things like glass bottles requires an ability to conceive different objects as abstracts. Painting itself is not very difficult if you are able to conceive the entire idea effectively.

    Learning and Practice

First and an important step towards acquiring an ability to paint glass bottles or other glass reflections is to learn to paint them and then practice them gradually. Start conceiving the entire idea and create an abstract form of the glass object you want to paint. You may start with something bigger or simpler that you do not find complicated to paint on, and then gradually move towards difficult things like bottles.

  • 2

    Observation

Even before you start painting any object, a general observation of it is a must. The observation leads to create an abstract form of the object in your mind, which you can translate or explain in colours, just like a narrator who explains an object in words. Observation is an ability to quickly frame the object shape in your mind, and that sketch helps you to create the actual painting.

    Identification of Colours

Identification or right colours and their shades is also a technique that a painter can master with the passage of time. It is difficult to be sure in the beginning about selection of darker or lighter colours shades, but as you go on with painting different objects and develop an ability to identify colours more, you find it easier to paint different objects, including those which are transparent such as glass bottles.

    Starting Painting Basic Objects

If you have some experience of paintings other things, you can start with painting of basic glass objects, and then as you develop more sense of painting reflections, you can expand your work to include rather complicated objects. Start with the glass, which just needs a simple one side reflection, not round or any other shape and then move towards creating round and other shaped paintings.
