How to Bathe in Milk And Honey

Milk and honey are famed for their skin nourishing and softening properties, and form the basis of a luxurious bath that is offered among the top beauty treatments at spas. The bath is an ancient beauty method, which was employed by kings and queens such as Cleopatra, to maintain a radiant glowing complexion. However, there is nothing particularly complicated about this mysterious and exotic sounding bath, and if you are in the mood for indulging yourself, simply try preparing one at home.

Things Required:

– 2 cup Epsom salt
– 1 cup honey
– 2 cups whole milk
– 1/2 cup baking soda
– Herbs or flowers as desired

Firstly, begin by assembling all the ingredients. Honey will help soften your skin, while milk is good for enhancing the skin’s texture and structure by lending it a good dose of protein. Finally, you can use Epson salt for its natural detoxifying, healing, and exfoliating properties, while baking soda is used for smoothing the skin, and neutralising any damaging acids that might be found on the skin’s surface.

Once you have assembled all your ingredients, it is time to start preparing your milk bath. Pour the milk into a one quart Pyrex measuring cup, and heat it up in the microwave on high for around 2 minutes. Next, pour in the honey, stir it until it is all combined. Take this all in to your bath, along with the remainder of the ingredients.

Then, run yourself a nice, warm, comfortable bath. Once the water is at the level you desire, toss in the dry ingredients, and then proceed to pour in the milk and honey mixture too. To give the bath an added level of indulgence, you can throw in ingredients that will lend the bath a nice scent – try whole herbs, like sprigs of rosemary and thyme, as well as flower petals such as lavender, rose, or lilac. You can also make the atmosphere more relaxing, by dimming the lights, lighting scented candles, and putting on some soothing music.

Once this is done, slip in to your milk and honey bath, and soak for around 30 minutes, to take full advantage of the nourishing properties of your milk and honey bath. Once you are done, rinse your body off thoroughly, and dry yourself with a soft towel.
