Instructions

  • 1

Do your homework. Get first-hand information about the subject you will be talking on. Latest information is critical in gaining the attention of the audience.

  • 2

Be a filter for your audience and design the presentation according to the academic level and understanding of the audience.

  • 3

Be precise and clear, start with little information and then expand it as you go along.

  • 4

Relax before going on the stage; drink some water just to calm yourself down.

  • 5

Be confident, as it is critical in helping you gain the attention of your audience. If you are shaky and not confident then your listeners will probably not take you seriously.

  • 6

Do not use contradictory statements in your presentation. If you contradict yourself, then your presentation will be considered nothing more than a waste of time.

  • 7

Be friendly towards your audience and let them know that you will be taking their questions after your presentation.

  • 8

Simple presentations are better and should be preferred instead of flashy ones as they will only help in distracting your audience, and will also show that your content is weak and you have tried to distract people with unwanted stuff in the presentation slides.

  • 9

Never read from a slid, remember slides are not speaker notes.

  • 10

It is also not necessary to explain each and every point mentioned in the slide.

  • 11

You need to divide the information into parts for the better understanding of your audience.

  • 12

You can add a video clip related to your topic in your presentation.

  • 13

Once you are done, invite questions and always reply with a smile.

  • 14

If there is a tough question that you do not want to reply to, just tell the questioner that you will send the answer through email.
