How to Make a Pasta Dinner Basket

Preparing a pasta dinner basket at home is a great way to impress your family or friends. All the ingredients required to make this excellent and tasty dish are readily available and healthy for you. Italian plum tomatoes are the main ingredient that goes into the dinner basket. Depending on your personal choice, you can either use parsley or dried basil in your recipe. Surprise everyone tonight by doing something a bit different.

Utensils/Decorative items:
1 large glass jar with lid
1 large circular basket
1 colander
6 cloth napkins
1 wooden spoon
1 wooden pasta fork
decorative ribbon

Tomato Sauce: as per taste
Cloves garlic: 2
Medium yellow onion: 1
Olive oil: 3 tablespoons
Whole Italian plum tomatoes: 1 can
Chopped fresh parsley: 3 tablespoons
Dried basil: 1
Dried oregano: ½ tablespoons
Grated Parmesan cheese: 2 tablespoons
1 wooden pasta measurer
Corkscrew pasta: 1 bag
Breadsticks: 1 bag
Parmesan cheese: 1 wedge
Garlic: 1 head
Oregano: 1 jar
Olive oil: 1 bottle

    First, you will be required to prepare slices of red or white onions using a sharp knife. Consider mincing the garlic cloves and the chopped onions to prepare the tomato sauce. Wash a large skillet using fresh water and add some olive oil to it. Heat the olive oil at a medium temperature and pour in the onion and garlic to the skillet. Cook for about five minutes or wait for the onions to turn into a nice golden yellow colour.

    Open the plum tomato cans and add this liquid solution to the mixture. Use a large sized wooden spoon to break large pieces of tomatoes. Next, add oregano, parsley and basil to the mixture. Continue to mix with the spoon.

    Add in Parmesan and continue to cook on low heat for a short while. Remove the tomato sauce mixture from the heat and pour the solution into an air tight jar. Place the lid over it. Collect all the items to fill the basket. Transfer the dried oregano into the decorative jar using a kitchen funnel. Place the taller items such as pasta, wooden spoon and napkin against the strainer. Position the rest of the items in front.
