How to Remove Silicone Caulk from Hair

It can become very difficult to get rid of any silicone caulk that sticks to your hair. If it is not taken care of in time, the silicone can surely damage your hair. Some people usually cut the portion of hair that has been affected by silicone, not knowing that there are ways that the silicone can be treated.

You need to rub your hair with baby oil and vinegar initially, focussing on the area that has been affected by silicone caulk more. Then remove the particles with your hands before washing your hair.

    Use baby oil

    First of all, pour a few drops of baby oil on your hand and apply it to your hair. Gently massage your hair so that the baby oil reaches at scalp and is applied to all parts. Make sure the oil reaches the area affected by silicone caulk and that the oil is equally distributed around the hair.

    Use vinegar on the affected area

    Once you have used the baby oil on your hair, it is time to use the Vinegar. Use any type of vinegar you have at your house and apply it to the area that is affected by silicone. Carefully apply the vinegar to the affected area with your hand and gently rub the silicone portion. This is to ensure that the vinegar reaches the scalp.

    Remove Silicone Caulk

    After applying both the baby oil and the vinegar, leave the hair for a good 5-10 minutes. Once you have left the hair for the required time, the next thing you need to do is to carefully remove the small pieces of silicone caulk from the affected area. Stand in front of the mirror and remove as much as silicone you can. The hair will be wet because of the baby oil and vinegar so the cleaning can be done easily.

    Wash your hair

    You cannot remove all the silicone from your hands surely. After removing all the silicone caulk that you can, shampoo your hair with cool running water to get rid of the remaining impurities in your hair. It is always good to use a conditioner also as that would nicely condition your hair.
