YouTube Video Maker Studio Started In London

Google has taken another step in trying to upgrade the production quality videos on its popular YouTube website by announcing this week that has setup a creator space in its Soho offices in London. Access will be given to the studio to users that have the most popular videos. Google released a video that showcased the new creator studio on July 25 and stated that the area was meant to be a “forum for production, collaboration, and education.”

Most videos that are made for YouTube are done using little more than a web cam and no extra lighting. However, these videos are still popular and have built up very large followings. The studio on offer by Google will enable these video creators the chance to use facilities like broadcast-quality HD cameras, audio booths and editing suites. Other high-end production equipment will include lighting rigs.

Google has not stopped at just the fancy equipment and the new video creator studio gives participants a chance to attend lectures and workshops from experts in the field. Video makers will also have the ability to attend teaching sessions by the YouTube Creator Academy and the YouTube Next Lab.

The London studio will be looked after by the YouTube Creator Academy and the YouTube Next Lab and any YouTube member from Africa, Europe, or Middle East can use the studio. Users will however need to book a time in advance and will be given the chance to interact and collaborate other YouTube users.

The establishment of the studio is seen as only the first step by YouTube in its quest to improve the videos available on YouTube. There are reports that another video creator studio will be setup in Japan but there has been no confirmation at this point from Google. Some see this new step as part of Google’s long term goal of harnessing user generated content on the internet.
