How to Power Sell on Ebay

Ebay is an online auction site that has millions of buyers and sellers all over the world. It was the first successful website of its kind and the concept was more of an online garage sale at the start. However, the website has grown enormously and large scale businesses have been set up that are making large profits by selling on this portal.

Power sellers on ebay are large scale sellers who meet a certain minimum criteria of selling in terms of volume as well as feedback that is received. The power sellers receive some extra benefits from ebay which are quite useful. Becoming a power seller takes time and a lot of commitment, and the goal can be achieved with the help of both.

    Time Period

    You must be a registered ebay user for a minimum of 90 days in order to be a power seller. During this period, your account must remain in good standing.

    Follow Policies

    You must follow all policies that have been put in place by ebay. If you do not follow them, you are at a risk of losing your basic membership, let alone becoming a power seller.

    Feedback

    There is a requirement of minimum 98% positive feedback in the last 12 months. In case it is lower than this percentage, the power seller status cannot be attained. If you are already a power seller and your feedback goes below this percentage, the status can be lost.

    Sales and Transactions

    You need to have sold merchandise worth $3000 as a minimum in the last 12 months and it is also needed that you have had at least 100 transactions with US buyers.

    DSR

    DSR is the detailed seller ratings which are based on four categories including items as described, Communication, Postage time and Postage and handling charges. The seller must maintain 4.6 as a minimum in all four ratings to be a power seller.

    It is also crucial that low DSR, i.e. 1 and 2, should not be had on more than 1% of US transaction on items as described above, and no more than 2% of low DSR on the rest of the three options.

    Buyer Protection

    Buyer protection cases should be no more than 0.30% of all transactions. This percentage is for cases that are closed without resolution.
