Fasten your seatbelt
The most important thing is to fasten your seatbelt before you start driving the car. Make sure you do it before even starting the engine otherwise you may forget to do so.
Learn the paddles
When you sit in the driver’s seat, you will see three paddles where you rest your feet. The left one is the clutch, middle one is the brake and the right one is for acceleration.
In case of automatic cars, there are two paddles, one in the centre and the other towards right. The configuration remains the same, with the difference being that there is no clutch.
Make sure the car is neutral before igniting the engine
Whenever you start the engine of your car, make sure that it is neutral. In order to avoid any problem, it is ideal to press the clutch while starting the engine.
Start the engine and allow it to heat up
Once you have started the engine, wait for it to heat up a bit, especially if there is cold outside.
Press the clutch and shift the stick to first gear
After the engine is heated up properly, go into the first gear by holding onto the clutch and moving the stick slightly upwards towards the left.
Release the clutch and accelerate slowly
Now, start releasing the clutch and accelerate slowly. The car will start moving and you can now repeat the same process while shifting to other gears.
