Sympathy Email to Friend

No matter how much distant we are, all of us are connected with something called humanity. Every one of us needs a shoulder in tough times and no one can talk down the importance of some words of sympathy during an ill-fated situation.

Similarly, you may have to console your friend at his or her loss and if you are far away then sending a sympathy email can be the most effective way. Though, it is a difficult task but you can do it by following some simple tips.

Open your email with suitable greeting and then express your grief at his or her loss. Try to make them realise that you understand their feelings as it is your own loss. If you are consoling someone on the death of their loved one then say some nice words about the diseased.

In the next paragraph, you will make your friend realise that you know what significance the departed soul had in their life.

In the end, mention the reason why you are not with them at this moment of trouble. After that, say something inspirational that can give him or her strength to fight this moment of grief.

Pray for the diseased and then conclude your email with a sincere closing.

    Dear James,

I just heard the sad news about the death of your brother Roger and I cannot tell you how shattered I am after knowing this. My friend, it is not just your loss rather I am feeling like I just lost my elder brother. Roger was always ready to help me whenever I needed him.

I completely understand what you and your family are going through right now and I wish I was with you in this time of grief.

Unfortunately, I had to move out of town but I am sure that you will come out of this sad incident and take care of your family. I will be with you in a couple of days.

    With deep sympathy,
