How to Import Outlook Contacts to Gmail Mail

Microsoft Outlook is no doubt a great tool to keep all your email accounts well managed. But, at times when you don’t have your computer system with you and you need to send out mails from any other computer it can be troublesome not having your contacts with you.

Well, syncing your Outlook contacts to a web based mail account like GMail, can work perfect to meet such unavoidable situations, but doing so needs a quick overview. Here’s how to import Outlook contacts to GMail.

    First of all you have to export you Outlook contact to your desktop from where you can import them into your Gmail Account. For this purpose, open your Outlook account.

    Now, choose "File" option from the menu bar of Outlook.

    Scroll down and click the “Import and Export.”

    Click “Export to a file" and then hit "Next."

    Select "Comma Separated Values (Windows)" and then again hit "Next."

    Now, a separate small window will be opened in front of you from where you have to click "Contacts" and then select "Next."

    Now, browse and select the location where you want to save your Outlook Contacts.

    Now, it will ask you to name the CSV file according to you ease and choice. So, name it in order to proceed.

    The exporting procedure of your Outlook contact is successfully completed. Now, move on and import the contact into your Gmail account.

    Open the internet browser you are currently using and open mail.google.com.

    Enter your Gmail ID and password into the specific fields in order to access you account.

    Now, click the drop down menu of “Gmail” on the left top corner of the page.

    Now, it will open your contact’s page right in front of you. Click the drop down menu of “More” link.

    Click "Browse,” and select the CSV file you created previously.

    Once you select the file, click the “Import” option in the blue box at the left bottom of the box.
