Choose a standard shoe box for making a Victorian Valentines Box for your close ones. Now it is the time to cover the advertising on the shoe box. Remember to use a shoe box that is clean and not torn up in anyway. You will want to use a box that is relatively thick and not too flimsy. Try to find a shoe box that does not have too many advertising images or words on it as you will have to cover it up and the less visible the better it is for you.
Take a coloured wrapping paper and cover the shoe box with the help of double sided tape. Make sure that not even a single word of the advertisement is visible otherwise it will give an ugly look. The colour wrapping paper should be relatively thick so that nothing can peek through it while you cover up the advertising information on the shoe box.
Cut scrap booking papers or Victorian pictures from magazines and keep them aside. Make sure to cut each of the Victorian figures separately. You will have to dig around your garage for old magazines or find a yard sale that has a pile of magazines for sale. You will want to be careful while using the scissors to cut the magazines.
Cover the back of the of the paper cutout with a decoupage glue. Decorate your shoe box with scrap booking papers or Victorian pictures. Take your time while you decorate the shoe box with all of the imagery. Be sure that everything is well balanced and not too cluttered as you want to give it an elegant look. The more patience and time that you spend decorating will definitely have a positive impact on the overall design of the shoe box.
Top the box with another layer of glue and your Victorian Valentines Box is all set to present.
