How to Put on Clown Makeup

Clowns have been our source of amusement since centuries. Their painted faces always keep smiling, sometimes juggling, sometimes walking on high stilts, in an attempt to make us smile back. Everybody loves them at the circus, parks and recreational events where their presence never fails to create a festive air. Think of a joyful celebration picture in your head and you will not be able to miss out on a clown face. Clowns apply make up on their faces to create different expressions and enhance their features. The most famous one is the white faced one where the features are exaggerated with use of make up. Things Required:

– Grease-based clown makeup
– Baby shampoo or baby wash
– Small paintbrush
– Pictures of clown faces
– Soap
– Large cloth
– Cotton swabs
– Small towel
– Warm water
– Baby powder

    Take out the print of a clown face you want to paint yourself or some one else. Having a visual aid will help you through the process. Before you start, wash the face with soap and water to clean off any contaminants. Pat the face dry with a towel. Wrap a cloth around the neck and shoulders to avoid being painted over with the make up.

    The first step for any clown makeup is the base. Usually clown faces have a white base. You can also have a skin colored base. Use your fingers to apply the base to your face and spread it all over, smoothly.

    Use a black pencil to make the eyebrows arched. One of the important features of a clown are his rosy cheeks. Use appropriate colors from the clown makeup to make the cheeks. Paint the cheeks in a round shape. Enhance the lips and the nose tip with the right colors. You can use cotton swabs and paint brushes for applying the details. Coat with a thin layer of baby powder to set the make up firmly and stay neat.

    Put on your clown wig and you are ready to spread smiles. When you are done with the job and want to remove the makeup, do so with a baby shampoo wash so that all the make up is removed and does not harm your face.
